Fungi in the forest

Join Seaford Natural History Society (SNHS) in a walk “Fungi in the Forest”

This search and identification walk starts from the second Friston Forest car park off the Littlington Road. Our purpose will be to see if we can find and possibly identify fungi, but you should note that there will be no foraging.  Fungi are dependent on the weather and tend to flourish if there has been rain so we will keep our fingers crossed that by the end of October there will be some good examples.  If there is a dearth of fungi then we will focus on seeing what else is in evidence at the start of winter.  The walk through the forest is likely to be short but if there has been rain it may be muddy. We may deviate off the main tracks, so be prepared for a bit of scrambling over fallen trunks.

We will meet in Friston Forest 2nd Car Park on Littlington Road, BN25 4AJ.  TQ 51793 00149. ///W3W brass.unheated.ticked

UPDATE  Due to Beachy Head marathon tomorrow, please leave plenty of time to find a parking space in one of the carparks, and get to the meeting place. It may be very busy and traffic may be held up temporarily while runners pass.

Please note that the location shown on Eventbrite was previously showing Butchershole carpark which is NOT correct

As per the details in the narrative, we will meet in Friston Forest  – at the 2nd Car Park on Littlington Road,  TQ 51793 00149. ///W3W brass.unheated.ticked

We look forward to seeing you there!
