Have you seen the new noticeboards in the Martello Fields and Salts? These were paid for by the Ouse Valley Climate Action lottery fund and are there to tell people more about the “renaturing” going on in the public green spaces.
Thanks so much to the volunteers who have been putting up monthly notices in them, so we can all learn more about the flowers growing there.
Late August update – Sadly due to elevated fire risk, the council contractors have started to cut down some wild flower areas including the “Covers”
Climate change is here, and already impacting our community. Drought may well be followed by floods in these areas, which will impact the soil, the flowers and our wildlife.
