A common member of the Daisy family (Asteraceae)

One of a difficult family of many similar flowers!

The bright yellow flowers often appear in grassland especially in Autumn. Flowerheads are solitary on leafless usually branched stems with a few scales. The stem tapers gradually into the flowerhead.

Achenes ribbed with white pappus of feathered hairs only

Leaves are long, thin and hairy, deeply pinnatifid. There are unforked hairs underneath the leaf stem!
