Press release – re Cliff Gardens project (24 January 2025)

We’re delighted to announce that:

On 15.01.2025 we, along with all objectors and supporters of the project to create an Educational Climate Change garden on this site, were notified by the Department for Transport of the outcome of the Public Inquiry which took place at The View on 26.11.2024.

This outcome was the creation of an order stopping up the highway at Cliff Gardens (BN25 1BG)

The Secretary of State hereby gives notice of an Order made under Section 249 of the Town and Country Planning act 1990:

 TO EXTINGUISH VEHICULAR RIGHTS ALONG A LENGTH OF CLIFF GARDENS, SEAFORD.

 THE ORDER WILL COME INTO FORCE ON 24 JANUARY 2025.’

A Public Notice to this effect will be posted on site by Lewes District Council by 24.01.2025

This notice states ways of obtaining copies of the Order and of questioning, on points of law, the validity of it – within a 6-week period from January 24. 2025.

Cliff Gardens committee are now discussing with Seaford Town Council final details regarding construction and possible start dates of the project.
