Dove’s-foot crane’s bill

Common name : Dove’s-foot crane’s bill

Latin name : Geranium molle

A member of the Geranium family (Geraniumaceae)

A tiny geranium often spotted in green spaces and pavement edges. Named after the long “bird beak-like” seedpod, there are various members of this family.

For example the Small-flowered Crane’s bill is also common in the same areas.

The Dove’s-foot crane’s-bill can be identified by the wide leaves in the main photo, the long hairs on the stem, pictured right and the hairless wrinkled seeds. (Refer to an ID book or website to learn more about this family)
