James reminds us to look out for the birds during winter!
Happiness is watching birds tucking into offered food and water in the garden!
Helping wildlife get through the winter is a tradition but more important these days when so many species are in decline.
Adding a short twig, or section of garden cane, to bird feeders helps make them more accessible – especially if there are few natural perches nearby. This blackbird is enjoying access to a suet feeder by perching on a twig, attached to the feeder by some garden tie wire (but string would work too).
