Seaford Community Garden
The Crouch Gardens

Open Wednesdays 9.30am -12.30pm all year round, and on Saturday mornings in the summer. Volunteers welcome.

Within a welcoming walled garden, we grow ornamental plants and vegetables, and sell plants and produce. The garden is as much about community as it is about gardening.

The Volunteers aim to make it a welcoming space for visitors who want to pop in for a chat, advice or just to sit.

Within the garden there are many different areas including flower beds, vegetable plots, a polytunnel, a wildlife pond and a classroom where volunteers share a tea break, either inside or outside depending on the weather. Regular topics for conversation range from what in the garden has been successful, future planting plans, possible new projects – as well as what is going on in the town. The joy of a community garden like this one is the lively company which makes even weeding fun.

Founded in 2007, the garden is well-established, and provides a great variety of tasks, for those with and without previous gardening experience. The garden is designed with wheelchair access in mind.

We are an inter-generational group, who aim to play to each others’ strengths. Between us, we also do maintenance, carpentry and Facebook updates.

We are off East St, inside the Crouch Gardens, next to the Peace Garden.

Close to the town centre and No.12 bus route. Get off at Seaford Library (4 minutes walk). The library also has toilets.

Parking available at the Constitution Club. Collect a parking badge from the Community Garden.

We always welcome new volunteers. Come and visit us to see if it suits you.
