Seaford Natural History Society (SNHS)and On the Verge invite you to a very special morning looking for Chalkhill blue butterflies
Friston Forest is a noted location for the Chalkhill Blue butterfly. In some years there can be thousands of this pretty butterfly and we are hoping that in 2024 we won’t be disappointed.
We will be led on our walk on the edge of the forest and around the Gallops by Michael Blencowe, a noted, local naturalist and specialist on this habitat. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn from a true expert.
The walk will be around 5 or 6km and the ground will be rough and on a slope. There is a large car park but unless you have a season ticket for Friston Forest, you will have to pay. The nearest public transport is approximately 1km away, near Friston Pond.
Numbers are strictly limited so you must book for this one.
